Alaska
Corporate
Law

While Alaska corporate law contains many provisions that are similar to those in the lower 48 states, Alaska law has its own unique variants. This is especially true with regard to Alaska Native Corporations, which have no counterpart in the lower 48. Although the federal securities laws do not generally apply to Alaska Native Corporations and Alaska Native Settlement Trusts, the proxy solicitations by Alaska Native Corporations are subject to regulation by the Alaska Division of Banking and Securities. This includes the regulations promulgated by the Division and related enforcement activities.

All of these laws and regulations are subject to change and it is advisable for businesses to consult with an experienced legal advisor such as Sorensen & Edwards to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on Alaska's corporate landscape.
